I moved my mailing list to Aweber today

email move

Today, Friday 10th October, I exported my mailing list from MailChimp and imported it into Aweber.

So if you are on my mailing list and received an email saying you need to click a link if you still want to get emails from me, don’t worry I haven’t been hacked. 🙂

And please do click the link because I’d love to stay in touch!

I did send an email from my old MailChimp list yesterday, but it won’t have got through to everyone because of spam filters etc.

It was a little nerve-racking at first but it’s all gone smoothly.

And of course if you aren’t already on my mailing list for updates, news, discounts and free resources please just download my e-book at the top of the sidebar on your right and you’ll get on it.

I’ll explain why I moved to my subscribers once everyone had confirmed, so do click that confirmation link if you’re curious about it.

Have a good weekend!

Thinking of starting an online store?

business_owner_parentsThis week Becky Goddard-Hill kindly published a post by me on her Family Budgeting blog. Here’s a taster…

Thinking of starting an online store? That’s great! Starting an online shop is a great way to sell products that you make or love and earn an income in the process as well. Plus, you don’t have to find the money to rent the shop or even decorate it!

However, setting up an online shop also requires careful thought before you take the plunge, so here is a quick list of things to look out to ensure that your online store is smart, successful and systematic:

Find What You’d Like to Sell

Always begin by finding a product or products that you’re absolutely convinced about and will have no problem recommending to others. Genuine passion helps to sell more easily and will be visible in your sales and communication with your customers. So, find a product you’d love to buy yourself, study the market to see if there’s a demand for it and then decide to sell it.

How to start an online business

pagelike_image3An online business feels like the holy grail if you’re a frazzled mum hoping to earn an income around a young family. There’s no doubt there’s a lot to learn, but I know when I was at home with very young children that I welcomed the chance to stretch my brain a little and so I was very eager to learn. Continue reading “How to start an online business”

Think you don’t have time for training? Think again…

girl_on_bikeI had a very interesting conversation with a business mum last week.  She was telling me about a recent marketing campaign that hadn’t gone as well as she had expected.

She had been using a combination of Facebook ads and local leafleting to encourage people to come to an event she was running.

I asked if she had used Facebook ads before.

She hadn’t.

I said that I had details of a free webinar on successful Facebook advertising and her response amazed me:

“Oh I don’t have time for training courses – I’ve got a business to run”

Now, I get it, I really do.

We are all busy, we all have families to feed, homes to look after and businesses to run.

But if we want to make those businesses successful, we need to have the right skills.

How could this lady expect to run a successful Facebook ads campaign if she had no knowledge, no experience and no training? Continue reading “Think you don’t have time for training? Think again…”
