Yesterday I went to the Cybermummy 11 conference in central London. It was HUGE, over 400 mum bloggers plus big brand sponsors and speakers including Sarah Brown (wife of ex-prime minister Gordon), Lord Richard Allan from Facebook and columnist Rachel Johnson.
There were quite a few business mums there, including Sam and Helen from Mums The Boss, Emma from Mums Business Directory, Antonia, Carol and Erica from Become a Mumpreneur, Monica from My Funny Bunny, Amy of Amy Taylor Accountancy, Sally from the LIME magazine, Liz from Weston Communications and Natalie Lue, professional blogger and all-round web guru . (Sorry to anyone I missed!) It was great to meet up with you all, ladies! So although Cybermummy isn’t really aimed at business, it certainly attracted its fair share of mumpreneurs.
So what did Cybermummy have to say from a business perspective? The big theme I saw running through the day was social media – in the workshops, from the speakers and in the delegates who were tweeting furiously from their smart phones! Continue reading “My Cybermummy Takeaway”
Hello there! *waves*
I’m going to the Cybermummy conference next week and there’s a little tradition of introducing yourself on your blog before the big day. So here’s mine.
I was going to do a video meet and greet, but it would have taken me quite a while to do my hair and makeup, so I decided to type it instead.
That’s the trouble with working from home, you forget about the way you look until you switch your webcam on and then…argh! Scary, very scary.
So I’ve got my sponsor (Smart Talkers Pre School Groups), I’m clutching my mini moo cards – sorry, they are just too cute to give away – and I’m just about ready for the event.
Apart from the hair and make-up which could take me a while!
Name: Helen Lindop

Dislikes: Meringue, jelly and custard together (they are OK apart, bizarrely!)
So if you’re going to Cybermummy, please come over and say hello!
Would you like your brand to be talked about by an influential community of parents throughout the next six months? Today I’ve got a list of mummy bloggers who are looking for sponsorship to attend the Cybermummy 2011 conference in June.
Cybermummy is the number one conference for British parent bloggers – last year, speakers included journalist India Knight and Mumsnet’s Justine Roberts. The event was written about in many, many parenting blogs, covered in the Financial Times, and featured on Woman’s Hour on Radio 4.
For around £200 (sometimes even less) one of these mums could be promoting your brand on Facebook, Twitter and her blog throughout the next six months, plus she’ll represent you at the conference itself.
Here are the mums that would love you to sponsor them… Continue reading “Get Your Brand Seen by Hundreds of Mums”
I’m really excited that SmartTalkers Pre-School Groups are sponsoring me to attend Cybermummy 2011 on 25th June!
Smart Talkers Pre-school Groups are a fun way to stimulate children’s spoken language development. They were set up by Libby Hill, who is a qualified, independent Specialist Speech & Language therapist with many years experience. Libby says “We take the development of communication for granted but it is actually the best achievement of our lifetime. We spend time on learning to be better readers, writers or dancers but we can all be better communicators too.”
Thank you Libby, I’m really looking forward to working with you!
I’ll be writing more about SmartTalkers between now and June next year, but just wanted to let you know that my Cybermummy pitch last week had been a success! I’d also like to thank Erica and Antonia of AceInspire who gave me the prod I needed to get my pitch out there, plus help with writing the pitch itself.
So if you’re a parent blogger thinking about getting sponsored, just give it a go. There may be a company out there who would love to work with you but you’ll never know unless you try!
Next year I’d like to attend the very successful and high profile Cybermummy Conference. Cybermummy is the number one conference for British parent bloggers – last year speakers included journalist India Knight and Mumsnet’s Justine Roberts. The event was written about in many, many parenting blogs, covered in the Financial Times, and featured on Woman’s Hour on Radio 4.
I’d love to attend to represent Business Plus Baby and you. Continue reading “Sponsorship Opportunity”
