Business Books for Business Mums
If you’re thinking of starting a business as a mum, a few business books are a great investment. I’ve been meaning to review my favourites for a while now, but in the meantime here’s a list to get you started. My full reviews will be along as soon as I get them written!
The Mumpreneur Guide by Antonia Chitty is packed full of useful information yet easy to dip into if you have just a few minutes of free time here and there.
Kitchen Table Tycoon: How To Make It Work As A Mother And An Entrepreneur by Anita Naik has both solid business advice tailored to mums and detailed case studies of mums who are already running businesses.
Supermummy: The Ultimate Mumpreneurs Guide to Online Business Success by Mel McGee focuses on building an online business, but has marketing advice throughout that will be useful for any business mum. Most business mums have websites, so it’s well worth a read even if your business isn’t entirely online.
How To Afford Time Off With Your Baby by Becky Goddard – Hill isn’t really a business book, but I’m including it for two reasons. Firstly, starting a business means no income for a few months at least. Bolting this time on to the end of your maternity leave means (unless you’re very lucky) you’ll need to do some serious budgeting. Secondly, if you decide you’d rather be a stay at home mum who earns a few quid on the side than a full-on mumpreneur, this isĀ the book for you.
