I'd add that you can get a lot of very good and often free advice from local enterprise agencies- for example in St Albans we have SANTA- http://www.stanta.co.uk/ (I'm not affiliated with them, just an example). A good accountant will tell you if they're too expensive for you and might even be able to recommend you a cheaper alternative. That’s pretty good advice generally (I’m an accountant you know).
